How to use the system?
Get StartedUnite4Jobs is for the member of Unite the Union to help them find jobs. The system consists of 2 components
1) A CV area to help create your cv and repository to store your cvs in
2) An automated job acquisition which grabs jobs from a variety of sources so that you can search and where available with your cv from step 1)
Creating an Account
Use Unite Account - create an account on the system and receive a verification email
Use My Linkedin Account - authorise your Linkedin Account to create a linked account
Use My Facebook Account - sign in using your Facebook Account and create a linked account
Use My Twitter Account - login in with your Twitter details and create a linked account
The benefits of using the social network accounts is you can update that network to your status (for ex to seeking work, looking for opportunities).
Viewing JobsYou can search for jobs by typing in the main search bar just below the logo.
This will search a keyword in a job title. When the search results have been presented there are further options to filter the data
Keyword in Title - attempts to match the keyword to a word in the job title advertisement
Location - matches the location keyword
Company - matches to a company within the job opportunity where available
Industry - filters to a specific industry/sector based on the source website's tagging
Easy Apply Jobs Only - filters jobs that can be applied through from unite4jobs using an uploaded cv
You can also browse jobs in an industry by clicking on a sector in the footer page
Applying to JobsWhere available unite4jobs members can apply to a job on the system. To do so requires a cv on the system that will be sent to the contact on the job advertisement.
If an application method isn't available click on the job title of the search result will take you to the source of the job opportunity.
If the system is able to apply to a job the following options will appear
Additional items for each section can be added by clicking on Add. For example Work Experience - to add a work experience item click on (Add) Work Experience. This will then bring up an additional form with the following extra fields - Company - Job Title - Start Date - Finish Date - Description
